Product description

The "Denar Chrobrego" coin was designed as a modern reminder of one of the most important moments in the history of Polish statehood and coinage. It refers to the original coins minted during the reign of Mieszko I and Bolesław I Chrobry, which were a manifestation of sovereignty and a symbol of the newly forming state. This coin serves as a bridge between the old tradition of Polish money and contemporary numismatic collecting. The product is intended for collectors and history enthusiasts who appreciate issues with a clear cultural and symbolic context. It is a product that will perfectly complement any collection devoted to the history of Polish coins or the history of the state, reminding us of the roots of the Polish monetary system and the role it played in shaping national identity.

Appearance of the coin

The coin presents itself as a coherent and legible collector's item with a distinct historical character, which, thanks to its well-thought-out composition, allows the viewer to easily understand its theme and the intentions behind its issue. The central point on the reverse side is a depiction of Bolesław Chrobry's denarius – a motif taken from the oldest monuments of Polish coinage, which shows an arrow emerging from a tangle of six branches, symbolizing the Word of God and the Tree of Life in Christian tradition. around this scene is the inscription "DENAR BOLESŁAWA CHROBREGO" (Bolesław Chrobry's denarius), which clearly identifies the historical context of the issue and emphasizes its educational character. The obverse of the coin retains its classic representative form - in the center is the emblem of the Republic of Poland in the form of a crowned eagle, surrounded by the inscription of the issuing country, the year of issue, and the denomination, which, combined with the orderly composition and standard layout of the inscription, gives it the official character typical of collector's issues.

Historical overview

The issue of this coin refers to the beginnings of Polish statehood and the birth of domestic coinage, dating back to the reign of Bolesław Chrobry. The first denarii minted during his reign are considered to be one of the oldest material testimonies to the sovereignty of the young Piast state, and at the same time a symbol of the ambition of the ruler, who sought to strengthen Poland's position in Christian Europe.

The introduction of its own coin had not only economic significance, but also propaganda value – it emphasized the political independence and royal aspirations of Chrobry, culminating in his coronation in 1025. The contemporary collector coin was created as a tribute to this landmark moment in the country's history, recalling the beginnings of Polish identity, central authority, and the tradition of coinage, which has been an important part of the national heritage for over a thousand years.
