The Australian Year of the Rooster is the latest gold coin produced in Australia by The Perth Mint. It contains 10 ounces of pure 9999 silver and has a face value of 10 Australian dollars.
In 1996, The Perth Mint in Australia began minting coins from the Lunar series, which are inspired by the Chinese calendar. It consists of sixty-year cycles, which are a combination of twelve earthly branches (earthly branches) represented by 12 animals. According to the Chinese zodiac, the Year of the Rooster beginson January 28, 2017, and ends on February 15, 2018.
Appearance of the coin
The obverse of the coin invariably features the image of Queen Elizabeth II. It also bears the coin's denomination—10 Australian dollars—and the silver fineness.
The reverse depicts an image of a rooster, the animal symbolizing the Year of the Rooster.
