A 200 złoty gold coin was issued by the National Bank of Poland in 2005 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński. The coin was put into circulation on October 26, 2005, to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński. It was part of a commemorative series issued by the National Bank of Poland (NBP) dedicated to the poet, which also included a 10-złoty silver coin and a 2-złoty coin made of Nordic Gold alloy.
The issue commemorates Gałczyński, born in 1905—a poet known, among other works, for “The Enchanted Carriage” and the series of short stories “The Green Goose Theater.” The motifs used in the coin’s design directly reference his literary oeuvre, combining the anniversary theme with characteristic elements of the poet’s work.
