The 2021 Year of the Ox silver coin is the latest addition to the Perth Mint's Lunar III series. It is minted from the highest quality bullion (999.9) and weighs one ounce. The coin's face value is AUD 1. The coins in the Lunar series are renowned for their high quality.

The theme of the third Lunar series is the Chinese kaleidoscope. The Ox is the second sign of the zodiac and occurs in the years: 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021. APPEARANCE OF THE COIN

The reverse of the coin depicts an ox with a young calf facing an older representative of the species. The animals are shown in their natural habitat – in the bosom of nature. Next to the oxen are the mint mark of the manufacturer (P), the year of minting (2021), and the name of the animals in two languages (Chinese and English).

The obverse of the coin features a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Around it are inscribed details about the issuing country, the coin's face value, its weight, and the silver fineness.
