The price of diamonds is determined based on the 4Cs, that is, after taking into account all four of the stone’s most important parameters. The most expensive diamonds are colorless ones graded D, E, or F. When it comes to clarity, the most valuable grades are those designated FL, IF, or LC. Of course, the price is also influenced by the cut (e.g., EX, meaning excellent) and, naturally, the weight expressed in grams and converted to carats. Thus, it is worth noting that determining the value of a specific diamond is not easy, and you should carefully review its specifications before purchasing.

It’s worth knowing that one carat (1 ct) equals 0.2 grams. Furthermore, a carat is divided into 100 points, meaning that a diamond with, for example, 50 points will weigh 0.50 ct, which corresponds to a weight of 0.1 grams. A one-carat diamond with a good clarity grade can cost well over 20,000 PLN. The market price per carat can also rise from around $5,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on the rarity and quality of the larger stone. So how much could a one-gram diamond—that is, a five-carat diamond—cost? As much as 200,000 PLN!
