Gold and silver as gifts
Among the many different gift ideas, precious metals, specifically gold and silver, are still not an obvious choice and remain more in the category of surprising gifts. This is undoubtedly one of their advantages – such a gift is sure to be memorable.
Gold and silver in the form of gifts are not only an idea for Christmas. We also observe increased interest in May, which is the time of First Communion, but also generally in the spring and summer, which is the peak of the wedding season. These are two occasions where cash has reigned supreme as a gift for years, considered the most appropriate present. However, we are increasingly looking for alternatives to simply an envelope with banknotes. Gold or silver in the form of coins or bars may be just such an option.
A timeless gift
Gold and silver are literally timeless gifts. Precious metals are not a matter of fashion, but products with an established position on the market. What is more, a gold bar or coin is undoubtedly a gift with potential. The value of precious metals increases in the long term, so selling a coin or bar in a few years will also mean a profit.
What can we choose?
If we take an interest in precious metals, it may seem that the choice is not so simple, because there is a large selection of coins and bars on the market, both gold and silver, of various weights. That is why we suggest what to consider.
Investment gift
If a gift in the form of gold and silver is literally to replace cash, it is best to choose investment products, i.e., bullion bars or coins. In the case of bars, their weight starts at 1 gram, which currently translates to a price of around PLN 330 for gold. Depending on the budget we want to allocate to the purchase, we can choose heavier bars, although it is also recommended to buy a larger number of smaller bars, which will make it easier to sell them if necessary.
If you have a larger budget and decide to buy an ounce bullion coin, it is best to choose the most well-known and popular ones, such as: Canadian Maple Leaf, Krugerrand, Australian Kangaroo, and Vienna Philharmonic.
Personalized gift
If the recipient has specific interests, we can check whether there are any coins related to them. Mints around the world draw inspiration from the world of sports and culture, history, famous figures, and fairy tales when creating collector coins.
In terms of personalizing the gift, we can also provide an elegant case with a custom engraving.
A festive touch
Since the gift is to appear under the Christmas tree, we can choose a Christmas theme. Mints have been using it for years, issuing commemorative coins with the image of Santa Claus and other Christmas symbols, such as Christmas trees, gifts, and winter landscapes. They compete with each other in coming up with ideas on how to make the coins more attractive. The Royal Canadian Mint, for example , has created a 3D coin featuring Santa Claus and elves , as well as one that changes its appearance when viewed with a special flashlight.
An attractive corporate gift
Gold and silver are also a great idea for corporate Christmas gifts for contractors, partners, and employees. They are an elegant form of bonus, but also a gift that will help to recognize long service or outstanding contributions to the company.
