Due to recent fires and droughts in Australia, many species have been threatened with extinction. Their natural environment has also suffered. According to WWF data, over a billion species have been killed or harmed in the fires. Koalas have been the most affected animals. According to estimates, over 10,000 individuals have been harmed.
Moved by what is happening in Australia in January this year, we launched the RESCUE THE KOALAS campaign. From every gold bullion coin purchased during this period – Australian Kangaroo 1 oz – we allocated part of the funds to a collection for the species. Today, we are proud to announce that our joint efforts have raised an impressive amount: AUD 9,000.
We donated the collected funds to the Australian Koala Foundation, thereby jointly adopting a koala. The foundation has been supporting the species since 1986, caring for their welfare and natural habitat. It is one of the leading organizations that has joined the desperate fight for the survival of koalas after a series of fires across the country. Thanks to the help of donors, today they can properly care for the animals that survived, consuming everything that the fire encountered in its path.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who participated in this campaign. Without your support and enthusiastic response to the fundraiser, we would not have been able to do so much good for this suffering species. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
