It is noble to help others. Sometimes we are unable or incapable of doing so directly. However, there is always a way to support those who are weaker and more in need. And there are many such people around us, especially today.
Mennica Skarbowa systematically supports entities and institutions that make our everyday world a little bit better. One example of such support is the Swoboda Family Support Center in Poznań. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, centers of this type have been particularly hard hit, with support from other entities dwindling as a result of various additional costs. However, the demand for the center's services is not decreasing, but rather increasing – additional personal protective equipment, for example, is also needed there. Therefore, Mennica Skarbowa has decided to donate PLN 5,000 to the "Swoboda" Center to cover the most urgent needs of the center's residents.
The Swoboda Family Support Center operates in Poznań. Since early 2012, it has been acting as a foster care organizer. Since then, the Center has not only been caring for children, but also actively supporting foster families in their courageous mission of providing a new home for kids. The center's activities are multifaceted and comprehensive in terms of support for families and, above all, for the children in its care.
Janusz Korczak is credited with many valuable words about children. Among them are those that should serve as a guide for us adults on how we can help and what children's needs are. Korczak used to say: "A child wants to be good. If it doesn't know how, teach it. If it doesn't know, explain it. If it can't, help it." That is why Mennica Skarbowa has declared that its support for the "Swoboda" Center will continue.
