The second month of the year brought a significant correction in prices on the precious metals market. Silver prices fell the most, followed by platinum and gold. Only palladium prices saw a relatively slight decline. Gold prices in February fell from USD 1,663 per ounce to USD 1,579 per ounce, which corresponds to a decline of as much as 5.1%. The minimum price of gold reached USD 1,555 per ounce. Due to the weakening of the zloty, Polish investors were less affected by this decline. The decrease in zloty terms was only 2.5%, resulting in the price of one ounce of gold being PLN 5,005.
