What gift should I buy my mom for Mother's Day? When I asked my friend this question, he replied, "A brooch." I asked him why a brooch. "Because my grandmother wore a brooch at that age." Very unfair to both my mom and the brooch. To my mom, because age affects the way you dress, but not your style. To the brooch, because it is still associated with the stereotypical, dignified older lady's outfit. So what would be the best gift for my mom?
Mom may be forty, but she could also be ninety. Either way, she is still a woman, and women always want to be attractive. They don't stop wanting this when they reach "a certain age." Therefore, if we want to buy a truly perfect gift, let's forget about stereotypes. Let's choose something she will like, something her husband would like to see her in, something that would delight her friends.
Jewelry is a fantastic gift. Classic jewelry never goes out of style and can be worn at any age. Modern jewelry rejuvenates. When it comes to age, there is nothing worse than blandness, and classic jewelry alone can be a bit boring on a mature woman. However, combining classic jewelry with an original bracelet or a fashionable pendant allows you to avoid boredom. I'm not talking about extravagant combinations; an adult woman looks bad dressed like a teenager, but she doesn't have to limit herself to classics.
DON'T BUY THE BROOCH
I wrote at the beginning that associating brooches with the attire of women of a "certain age" is unfair. Brooches, beads, huge clips, and large gold rings with stones are associated with older women's jewelry. This is the result of the fashion that prevailed in the youth of our mothers and even our mothers' mothers. However, due to stereotypes, such jewelry makes you look older. Don't buy it. Unless your mother likes it.
What if your mother reacts with horror to the gift and says that it is inappropriate for someone her age to wear such jewelry? Make her realize that she is wrong. A woman who takes care of herself, has class and good taste is always attractive and does not have to dress like a dignified older lady. Don't believe it? Sharon Stone is 59 years old. I wouldn't dare call her an old lady.
