November increases in precious metal prices
November brought an end to the correction in precious metal prices and saw increases. Silver rose by 3.6% in dollar terms and 2.5% in zloty terms. Platinum prices rose slightly less, by only 2.2% in dollar terms and 1.1% in zloty terms. Palladium, on the other hand, impressed with a price jump of as much as 12.9% in dollars and 11.8% in zlotys.
Gold prices in November
Only gold prices fell slightly. They fell by 0.3% to USD 1,714 per ounce. Since mid-September, the price of gold has remained between USD 1,700 and USD 1,800 per ounce. Only at the beginning of November did we see a two-day downward break below this level, to a low of USD 1,672 per ounce. However, investors who took advantage of this moment to buy gold gained about 2.5% on the rebound in prices from their low at the end of November.
November was also another month of slight strengthening of the Polish currency. This translated into slightly lower price increases of precious metals for Polish investors. As of November 30, 1 ounce of gold was worth PLN 5,408, which corresponds to a 1.4% decrease since the end of last month.
