FOR A GIRL OR FOR A WOMAN?
How to choose earrings for a girl? The first and most important question that determines your choice: are you buying earrings for a little girl or for the adult woman she will one day become? If it's for a little girl, choose earrings that are suitable for a child. If for a woman, buy earrings for a young woman. There is also an intermediate option – earrings that are suitable for a child, but whose style and size will also suit an adult woman.
PRICE
If you want to buy earrings for a child, consider safety and price first and foremost. Earrings for children should not be too expensive. Children can easily lose them. It would be a shame for them to lie in a jewelry box because they are too expensive to wear. When buying earrings for a child, choose cheaper ones that they can wear freely, even on a daily basis.
SIZE AND SHAPE
Safety is also important. Earrings for small children should not be large, long, or contain any elements that could easily get caught while playing. Therefore, small, non-dangling earrings that sit on the earlobe are optimal.
CLASP
Earrings with a hook clasp are difficult to lose, but at the same time, a child can catch the clasp on their clothing, pull it, and injure their ear. The same applies to all hoop earrings. That is why it is worth choosing between studs and screw backs. Stud earrings can be lost if pulled, but the risk of injuring the ear is minimal in this case. Another good option is a screw-back, which resembles a stud, but the cap is screwed on rather than clipped on. This means that the risk of losing it is practically zero. Since a screw-back earring cannot come undone, it is important that it is small and has no elements that could catch on clothing.
TEMPLATE
When choosing earrings for a little girl, choose something that children like. Animals, hearts, flowers, and butterflies are good options. However, it is worth considering a design that will be appropriate for all ages. Geometric shapes, minimalist zirconia without settings, pearls, and other non-typical children's designs work great here.
SIZE
As we mentioned earlier, for safety reasons, earrings for girls should be small and not dangling. There is also another practical reason – changes in ear size. Children grow. Earrings that fit a three-year-old's ear may seem too small for an eight-year-old's ear, and they will certainly be too small for a twenty-year-old. However, if we choose small stud earrings without dangling elements, they will always fit. Such an earring, not much larger than the ear hole, will look impressive regardless of age.
In summary, if you are buying earrings for a girl, choose small stud or screw-on earrings without dangling elements or elements that can easily snag on clothing. If you also want the girl to be able to wear them as an adult woman, choose a universal design that she can wear at any age.
