WHY DO WE ONLY WEAR DIAMONDS IN THE EVENING?

St. Andrew's Day is just a few days away. It's the perfect occasion to wear sparkling evening jewelry. And speaking of sparkling jewelry, why do we wear it in the evening and not during the day?

For a simple reason. Investment diamonds, whether in jewelry or other precious stones, sparkle most beautifully in artificial light. In the spotlight, even cut glass sparkles, let alone diamonds! That is why we wear diamonds and other stones in the evening. For the same reason, evening dresses are usually dark in color (black is not as deep in any other light). They are also often made of shiny fabrics or embroidered with rhinestones. Dark colors are also the perfect backdrop for evening jewelry.

This raises the question of why wearing jewelry with precious stones during the day, especially to work and formal meetings, may be considered inappropriate. Diamonds and other stones shine most beautifully in artificial light, but they also sparkle during the day, which is why diamond jewelry can be considered too ostentatious. Usually, it simply does not match the outfit, unless it is very minimalist.
