MEGHAN MARKLE'S WEDDING JEWELRY

On May 19, 2018, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got married. It was a fairytale story. A young, beautiful American actress meets a man who turns out to be a British prince. They fall in love and get married. Even American screenwriters couldn't have come up with such a scenario. The ceremony was beautiful, but we were most interested in the bride's jewelry and dress – the essence of simplicity, chic, and good taste.

The first thing that impresses is Duchess Meghan's modest dress. The dress was designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. The white, fitted dress with long sleeves and a boat neckline perfectly highlights the bride's figure and complexion, and the lack of embellishments provided the perfect backdrop for the jewelry. The bride chose to wear a diamond tiara lent to her for the occasion by Queen Elizabeth II. The tiara was made for Queen Mary, the grandmother of the current queen, in 1932. The tiara perfectly complemented the delicate veil finished with subtle embroidery at the bottom. The rest of the bride's jewelry consisted of small, round, diamond stud earrings from Cartier and a bracelet from the same company.

The simplicity of the royal couple's wedding rings was also striking—simple, thin bands without any embellishments or precious stones. Both were made by Cleave and Company: yellow gold for the bride (Welsh, in keeping with tradition) and platinum for the groom. The simple wedding band contrasted sharply with the engagement ring, which was adorned with a large diamond in the center and two smaller ones on either side.

Duchess Meghan's entire outfit impressed with its minimalism and good taste. It seemed impossible, but the simplicity of Duchess Meghan's outfit even surpassed Duchess Kate's modest wedding outfit.
