Last week, I discussed jewelry that goes well with prom dresses. Today, I will talk about choosing jewelry for evening gowns, which we wear to very formal premieres, galas, and corporate events, when the organizers require black tie attire.
WHAT JEWELRY TO CHOOSE
WHAT TO COMBINE
It is advisable not to combine elements from the same set if they are close to each other, such as a necklace and earrings or a bracelet and ring. Long earrings go beautifully with an evening gown, and can be complemented with a bracelet and ring. A large necklace usually looks best without earrings, with a stately bracelet or ring. We can also opt for a shiny brooch, but then we should forego other jewelry, preferably earrings or a necklace, which, like the brooch, are close to the face. If we want to wear a watch, it should be a watch on a decorative bracelet. It then replaces the bracelet.
BALANCE BETWEEN THE DRESS, JEWELRY, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES
The more decorative the dress, the less jewelry we wear. The more modest the dress, the more jewelry we wear. Considering that a long evening gown is often accompanied by a jeweled handbag and shoes decorated with diamonds, these should be taken into account when putting together an outfit. In the case of a very richly decorated handbag and shoes, they can replace most of the jewelry. The perfect complement to such an outfit are then accessories close to the face, such as earrings, a necklace, or a brooch.
