Not every necklace suits every neckline, and not every neckline requires a necklace. So how do you choose the right necklace, and should you wear one at all? Today, I will discuss necklines that look good with a necklace. Next week, I will show you those that should not be worn with a necklace, but rather with earrings or a bracelet. The following week, I will present necklines for which we have a choice of accessories.
Necklines that are worth wearing a necklace with are:
- triangular neckline, sweetheart neckline, blouse or shirt with an open collar,
- square neckline, i.e., diamond-shaped,
- round neckline,
- boat neckline,
- corset neckline,
- golf.
How to choose a necklace to go with them? We have two options: either duplicate the styleztthe neckline, or break it completely.

A triangle neckline looks best with a necklace that fits snugly around the neck (e.g., a choker) or a short triangle-shaped necklace. Such necklaces will also go well with a shirt or blouse with an open collar and a heart-shaped neckline, as both of these necklines are triangular in shape.
A very long round necklace can also go well with a triangular neckline and a blouse or shirt with a collar. However, this type of necklace does not look good with a heart-shaped neckline.

Like the triangle neckline, the diamond neckline looks best with a very short necklace that fits snugly around the neck or a short, triangular necklace.

A round neckline looks best with a round necklace or a long necklace that breaks up its line. If you decide on a long necklace, choose one that is long enough to reach well below the neckline.

A boat neckline looks best with a very short necklace that fits snugly around the neck or, conversely, with a very long necklace that breaks up its line (similar to a round neckline).

The corset neckline is not only exceptionally beautiful, but also very versatile. It can be worn with a very short necklace that fits snugly around the neck, as well as a slightly longer, round or triangular necklace, or even a long necklace that crosses the neckline.

Golf looks best with a very short necklace or a very long triangular-shaped one.
When choosing a necklace, remember that it should not touch the edge of the neckline or slip out from under it. Even if you choose a necklace that you hide under your clothes (e.g., with a religious symbol), it should be a bold accent, so the necklace should be long enough.
When choosing a neckline and necklace, we also take into account the shape of our face. I wrote about how to choose a necklace to suit the shape of your face. here.
