What jewelry can we wear during the day and how does it differ from evening jewelry? At night, a woman can outshine the stars, but during the day, her jewelry should not sparkle with precious stones. Apart from vacations and weekend getaways, regardless of the occasion, jewelry should also be relatively modest, which limits both the quantity and size of the adornments.

Daytime jewelry can be made of gold, silver, or platinum. Pearls are also appropriate. The amount of jewelry worn will depend on the occasion.

VERY FORMAL RECEPTIONS

For very formal receptions, where we wear so-called formal daytime attire (a dress or suit, hat, and gloves), it is essential to wear jewelry. This can be earrings, a necklace or brooch, a ring, or a bracelet, but it is best to limit yourself to a maximum of three items. Instead of a bracelet, you can also wear a watch on a bracelet.

LESS FORMAL OCCASIONS

For less formal occasions, you can wear less jewelry. When wearing formal attire (a cocktail dress, shirt dress, skirt suit, or pantsuit), you can wear a few small pieces of jewelry – a minimum of one and a maximum of three. Jewelry also includes the aforementioned bracelet watch, engagement ring (which can sparkle), and wedding ring. If we like minimalism, these may be enough, although it is always worth considering earrings.

EVERYDAY

Formal (i.e., city) attire, business attire, smart casual, and business casual attire do not generally require jewelry, but it is worth covering your pierced ears with small, stud earrings. A watch on a bracelet replaces a watch on a leather strap here.

TAKE IT EASY

Jewelry for vacations, weekends, and any other casual occasions when we wear casual outfits is a completely different topic for a separate article. On the one hand, there may be none at all, and on the other, there may be a lot. It all depends on your preferences. You can approach the subject very liberally.

WHAT WE DON'T WEAR DURING THE DAY BUT WEAR AT NIGHT

As I mentioned at the beginning, we do not wear shiny jewelry during the day. We also do not wear large, very impressive jewelry that is typically worn in the evening. While it is worth making a strong statement in the evening, during the day this strong statement can still be made, but in a more subtle way. During the day, we also do not wear certain accessories: decorated hair clips and tiaras. On a daily basis, however, we can wear a watch on a strap that does not match evening outfits.

Finally, it is worth paying attention to glasses. Glasses themselves can be decorative. The more decorative they are, the less jewelry we wear close to our face.
